Westminster at Lake Ridge is a premier Continuing Care Retirement Community serving older adults in three levels of service: Independent Living, Assisted Living and a Health Center. Our team of roughly 220 total employees serves a population of over 400 total residents on 62 acres that back up to the Occoquan reservoir. We are currently seeking a compassionate, and experienced human services professional to join our team and community as the Director of Life Enrichment.  

This position is responsible for delivery of services related to Ingleside's 6 dimensions of Wellness (Spiritual, Physical, Social, Emotional, Occupational, Intellectual). In addition, this position requires excellent design and documentation skills for developing processes, projects, programs, policies, and systems. Must have the ability to influence without having direct control, have the creative ability to take a vision and translate into programs that can be deployed, have an expert understanding of the program needs of residents in Independent, Assisted, Skilled Nursing and Dementia care living environments.   Must be an effective communicator, have strong leadership, teaching, coaching and motivational skills. Must have the ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities. Must approach all encounters with residents, associates, and vendors in a friendly, service oriented manner while demonstrating a high work ethic. Must have the ability and willingness to meet project deadlines and goals, be punctual and dependable.

Bachelor's degree in Human Services, the Arts or related field, five (5) to eight (8) years of cultural arts, activities programming and management required; or equivalent combination of education and experience.   Incumbent should be able to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written and oral form, possess high-quality verbal and written communication ability, strong customer service and interpersonal skills, and be available to handle community relations. Must be proficient in the operation of computer applications such as Microsoft Office and community selected Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system, various office machines including telephone, calculator/adding machine, copying machine, fax, etc.  


Key Responsibilities:

Oversees the implementation of integrated Life Enrichment programs and activities, in conjunction with residents and staff in Independent Living, Assisted Living, Assisted Living-Memory Support, and Comprehensive Care that addresses the six dimensions of Wellness.

Designs and implements innovative approaches to maximize resident wellness. Assesses/monitors resident's needs and identifies services, interventions and goals to attain or maintain the highest practicable physical, mental, and psycho-social well-being. Oversees the deployment of individualized, person-centered activity programs and events for residents in all levels of care.

Demonstrates the ability to integrate age specific requirements with individual development, mental, social, and cultural needs when planning, overseeing and performing services for geriatric residents.

Oversees the compliance of programs with state and federal requirements. Designs, documents and leads the implementation of Life Enrichment programs, processes, policies and procedures for Independent Living, Assisted Living-Memory Support, Assisted Living and Skilled Nursing neighborhoods.

Develops processes, policies and procedures to consistently deploy and improve Life Enrichment programs at Westminster at Lake Ridge.

Completes/monitors assessments, care plans, progress notes and other MDS documentation related to activity pursuit patterns in compliance with Federal, State and Facility requirements

Collaborates with other functional areas to include the Healthcare Administrator to create and integrate the Life Enrichment philosophy throughout Westminster at Lake Ridge and other Ingleside communities as needed.

Fulfills the Senior Leadership Responsibilities; e.g. MOD, Stand Up Attendance, CARF- CCAC, Operations Planning and Reporting. Management and oversight of other duties as assigned.

Acts as a leader and manager of assigned positions; ensuring productivity, efficiency and accuracy in work performed.

Maintains professional presence when representing Westminster of Lake Ridge; exhibits degree of professionalism consistent with standards in performance, behavior, and appearance.
