A proven "out of the box" business development leader that successfully implements business models and has a solid understanding of memory services. In this position, the Directory of Memory Support Services and Programming will develop strategic business plans for memory support and the appropriate tactics to grow the business within the internal and external community. The Director of Memory Support Services Programming is primarily responsible for integrating and developing memory services and programming, supporting and developing front line staff, furthering the mission of the Well-Being Model, and achieving internal and external market superiority.

Essential Duties:

Program Development

  • Develops strategic business plans for memory services and the appropriate tactics to grow the business within the internal and external community.

  • Partners with Ingleside's Sales and Marketing teams to maximize memory services, and thus, achieve internal and external market superiority.
  • Develops, recommends, and monitors memory services and support programs, environmental changes, and related policies and procedures.
  • Assists and collaborates with Sales & Marketing teams to increase census through community outreach and other key initiatives.

  • Creates annual strategic business objectives that drives memory care occupancy.

  • Collaborates on an ongoing basis with the Community Director of Health Care Services, Director of Clinical Operations, and the Sales and Marketing leadership teams to gage changes in memory service markets and makes corrections to current business tactics as needed.
  • Develops and implements memory care services and support structures in collaboration with the team including budget allotments for staffing, supplies, equipment, etc.
  • Develops and maintains working knowledge and application of memory care and support therapeutic guidelines and policies and procedures.
  • Develops, maintains, and implements a QAPI program for Memory Care and Support

  • Develops and implements job descriptions, performance evaluations, and competencies as necessary in memory care and support in collaboration with Human Resources. Maintains and updates required.


  • Develops staff competencies in memory care and support.

  • Develops, organizes, and implements education and training in memory care and support for all levels of staff as needed.

  • Directs and supports the implementation of quality memory services and support programming, promoting a high level of patient/resident/family/staff satisfaction in fiscally responsible manner.
  • Creates written and oral reports/recommendations to appropriate leadership concerning the operation and ongoing development of the memory care and support service areas.
  • Promotes memory services and support programs and professional/service expertise through community outreach and establishment of appropriate relationships with National Alzheimer's Association and other national and local agencies/groups as appropriate.
  • Acts as clinical consultant with the selection of residents for admission to the memory services and support programs.
  • Develops staffing plans for the memory care and support programs in consultation with appropriate Managers and Supervisors.

  • Implements standardized memory services in collaboration with the other Ingleside Directors of Memory Support Services and Programming, in accordance with current federal, state, and local guidelines, and regulations that govern communities.
  • Assists with monitoring the recruitment and selection for the memory services and support personnel.
  • Makes routine rounds of the memory care and support program areas to ensure that all personnel are performing their work assignments in accordance with established memory care and support programming guidelines. Communicate findings.

Knowledge Base:

  • Certification, training, education, and expertise in the development, implementation, and administration of a Memory Programming.


  • Must possess a Bachelor's Degree in recreational therapy, social work or related profession from an accredited college or university. Master's Degree in area of expertise is preferred.
  • Must have, as a minimum, seven (3) years of experience in a Memory Services program management position, of which five (2) years must be in a long-term care organization.
  • Previous experience with community sales and marketing outreach highly desirable.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

40 per week


Yes, reimbursed travel to communities, and required meetings.
