Ingleside is a premier non-profit with a rich history of serving the needs of older adults for more than 110 years.  We have three beautiful Continuing Care Retirement Communities in the greater Washington, D.C. area, an at-home services businesses, a for-profit construction division and a foundation.  Our team of over 700 employees serves a population of approximately 900 total residents and we are growing.

We are currently searching for a detail-oriented Payroll Specialist to join our human resources team full time at our community in beautiful Lake Ridge, Virginia, located near the Occoquan reservoir, 2.7 miles from the nearest I-95 exit.  This position reports directly to the Sr. Director of HR & Payroll and supports our full team of Ingleside companies. The ideal candidate should have at least five (5) years of specialized payroll experience, a high school diploma (Bachelor's degree in a related field strongly preferred). Payroll certification and Human Resources experience preferred. 

We are looking for someone with:

  • Advanced payroll knowledge.
  • Expertise in payroll software; AOD experience a plus.
  • Strong customer service orientation.
  • Ability to identify, research and resolve anomalies.
  • Excellent data entry skills.
  • Excellent communication capabilities.

The candidate should be able to:

  • Handle the day-to-day administration of the payroll function accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Ensure compliance, accuracy and quality control through routine audits.
  • Maintain confidentiality - securing all documents to ensure privacy of information.

The Payroll Specialist is responsible for:

  • Monitoring and ensuring accuracy of payroll, time and attendance, check stub/W-2 reporting, etc. programs, data and/or systems.
  • Managing the production and issuance of paychecks or electronic transfers to bank accounts.
  • Preparing accurate payroll reports in a timely manner.
  • Maintaining relationships with internal stakeholders and employees to ensure appropriate levels of service.
  • Creating payroll guidelines, policies and procedures.
  • Preparing and handling the year end processing such as Form W-2's, benefit plan rate tables, tax tables, etc.
